The zodiac signs derive from constellations, as the science of astrology itself is based on calculations of the positions of the planets at the time of your birth. Astrology is based on the principle that the magnetic pull and particular properties guides us through our lives, almost to the point of being able to predict our lives in advance.
There are twelve zodiac signs, and each is associated with a particular element: earth, air, fire and water. The element is what determines major personality traits.

Popular astrology is based on your sun sign only. Some of your dominate personality traits are likely to be in line of the predictions from your sun sign – however, newspaper horoscopes don’t always take this into account, so that is why they are not always accurate for you. This is because every person also has a moon and rising sign, which greatly affect the events throughout the course of your life.
